SEKISUI CPT: THE NEW LEADING GLOBAL PLAYER IN PIPE REHABILITATION

Munich, September 3rd 2008, SEKISUI Chemical, one of the leading Japanese in-dustrial companies, has taken over 75% of the shares in the CPT Group and launches with SEKISUI CPT a new leading global player in the field of trenchless pipe rehabilitation.

The Sekisui Chemical Corporation, headquartered in Osaka, Japan was established in 1947 and has in recent years become one of the world's leading infrastructure companies. The Sekisui Group provides high performance products in the fields of plastics, water environment solutions and factory produced housing while adhering to the highest standards of corporate social responsibility. Last year the company achieved a turnover of 5.7 billion euros. Worldwide, more than 18,000 employees work for Sekisui.

SEKISUI CPT´s target is to become the No. 1 rehabilitation company in the world: “As SEKISUI CPT we have the ideal foundation to reach our objectives,” says Kozo Takami, CEO of SEKISUI CPT. “SEKISUI and CPT have had a long partner relation-ship over the last years based on the same strategic goal. Basis for further global growth is the wide range of rehabilitation methods.
SEKISUI CPT offers products for sewer, gas and water pipes in all diameter ranges from 150mm to more than 5.000mm. The solutions contain the well-established and proofed CIPP (cured in place pipe) technology including NORDIPIPE, the patented and unique solution for the rehabilitation of water mains, the SWL (spiral wound lin-ing) technology and the SPR (spiral pipe renewal) technology. “Especially SEKISUI CPT´s SPR method for the renovation of super large, circular, non-circular and cus-tom shapes will open new markets for the Group and strengthen the internal value chain. The introduction of the SPR technology in the European market will be man-aged by the one of the Group´s construction companies, KMG LinerTec”, states Ed-mund Luksch, President of SEKISUI CPT. “Furthermore, with our patented NORDIPIPE we are able to offer a unique solution for the rehabilitation of water mains.”

Additionally to its superior products SEKISUI CPT offers the whole range of solutions for pipe rehabilitation from a global sales network to local construction experts with “hands-on” expertise. Simultaneously with the launch of the new group, Keisuke Tatematsu was appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of SEKISUI CPT. Mr. Tatematsu has a long and suc-cessful business record and has had several positions within the SEKISUI Chemical Group. He will be based in the SEKISUI CPT headquarters in Schieder-Schwalenberg, Germany. Keisuke Tatematsu will support Edmund Luksch to control the global operations of SEKISUI CPT.

Munich, 21st May 2008. The CPT Group, a global leader in the field of trenchless pipe rehabilitation, gets a new principal shareholder. On Monday, May 19th 2008, Sekisui Chemical Corporation, a leading pipe producer in Asia, signed a share purchase agreement to take over 75% of the shares in CPT Group. The former sole shareholder Chevalier International Holdings retains 25% of the shares.

The Sekisui Chemical Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan was established in 1947 and has in recent years become one of the world's leading infrastructure companies. Last year the company achieved a turnover of 5.7 billion euros. Worldwide, more than 18,000 employees work for Sekisui. CPT will become part of the Sekisui-division “Urban Infrastructure and Environmental Products”.

"We are very pleased with this investment," said Edmund Luksch, CEO of the CPT Group. "Sekisui is one of our long-term partners who will now actively support our growth."

CPT will now start distributing Sekisui products through its global sales network and expand its product range in addition to the well-known NordiTube and Rib Loc products to Sekisui SPR technology. SPR is a spiral wound technology for out-of-round pipes, which is in particular for the rehabilitation of large diameter sewer pipes.

IFAT 2008 – a successful show for CPT!

From May 5th to 9th CPT took part in the IFAT exhibition in Munich, Germany. IFAT is the world’s biggest and most important trade fair for environmental technology and services with more than 2.500 exhibitors and more than 120.000 visitors. “IFAT happens every three years and is the biggest event for our industry. It is a golden opportunity to present our group at this exhibition,” says Edmund Luksch, CEO of CPT Group.

CPT presented its products and services on a 144sqm exhibition stand in hall B5. Although being located between all its competitors, the CPT stand had far more visitors than all others in the hall. NordiTube displayed its CIPP products and Rib Loc its spiral wound products by brochures, samples and movies. The CPT sales team welcomed customers from all over the world, among them clients from Europe, Australia, India and Mexico.

For CPT´s Munich based construction company KMG IFAT was a home game. KMG presented its services including pipe rehabilitation, pipe construction and environmental construction at landfill sites. “We had a huge amount of customers on our stand”, says Peter Wagner, General Manager of KMG, in a very pleased way. “Many good discussion, good business – we cannot expect more from IFAT”.

Highlight of CPT´s appearance at the IFAT was the CPT stand party on Wednesday, May 7th. Over 200 customers from all over the world joined the party. After a speech by CPT´s CEO Edmund Luksch all guests enjoyed food, drinks and dancing.
